Optic Nerve
The sensory nerve of the eye. The optic nerve carries electrical impulses
from the retina to the brain. These impulses are interpreted in the brain
and result in visual images. The optic nerve connects to the back of the
eye near the macula. The visible portion of the optic nerve is called the
optic disc.
