Optic Disk (Blind Spot)
The ocular end of the optic nerve, the optic disk marks the exit of retinal
nerve fibers from the eye. The optic disk contains no photoreceptor cells
to respond to light stimuli, consequently claiming the name the 'blind
spot.' Being part of the optic nerve, the optic disc functions to carry
signals to the brain.
